LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

II. AUTHORIZED
USERS
- All enrolled Institute of Computer Education students.
- All BSU students from other colleges and campuses with valid library
card.
- BSU administrators and faculty members
- Users from other schools with referral letter issued by their
respective librarians.
III. GENERAL POLICIES
LIBRARY / BORROWERS CARD
- A borrower's card and identification card are required in borrowing and returning of library materials, both print and non-print.
- The borrower's card is issued every 1st semester upon presentation of a valid school identification and registration card during the first month of each semester. Library card fee is P10.00. Late registrants shall be fined P10.00 after the first month.
- A lost library card should be reported immediately to the librarian/student assistants so it will be replaced on the same day if it is reported lost. A fee of P10.00 is charged for the replacement.
- The borrower's card is non-transferrable. Using someone else's ID/borrower's card is subject to disciplinary action and may cause suspension of library priveleges.
LOAN PERIOD
- General reference books, pamphlets, journals, magazines and other periodical materials, books in set, theses and vertical file clippings must be READ within the library.
- Faculty members of the Institute of Computer Education may borrow a maximum of two (2) books for a month, subject for renewal if not in demand.
- Reserved books are to be borrowed for an hour only. Photocopying of books and other library materials should be returned after 15 minutes.
- CICT students may borrow two (2) books with more than thress copies for two days.
- Books with one copy will be allowed for overnight use and should be returned at 8:00 in the morning.
- Audio-Visual materials must be borrowed for a classroom use upon the presentation of the letter of request to the head librarian at least three (3) days before the date.
- Fiction books may be borrowed for a week subject to renewal if not in demand.
- Borrowing service is at 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
III. LIBRARY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. FINES
Materials returned late are subject to overdue fines:
- General Circulation and Filipiniana book: P2.00/day for students and P5.00/day for faculty members.
- Reserved books borrowed for photocopying P2.00/hour per students/faculty members.
- Book borrowed for overnight use is P3.00/hour for students.
- Borrowers with overdue books or with standing obligation to the library will not be allowed to borrow unless all library accounts are settled.
- Library priveleges for students who have been delinquent or have been found violating library polices on three (3) consecutive occasions in a given semester shall be suspended for one (1) month.
B. LOST BOOKS
- Reserved books borrowed for photocopying P2.00/hour per students/faculty members.
- Book borrowed for overnight use is P3.00/hour for students.

C. DAMAGED MATERIALS
- Library materials damaged beyond normal usage must be replaced with
additional cost or be paid according to the value determined by the
librarian.
- Missing, torn or damaged pages in any borrowed library materials
must be reported immediately to the librarian or student assistant or
else, the borrower shall be held accountable to the damaged incurred in
the borrowed material.
D. DEPOSITORY COUNTER
- Library users shall be required to deposit their belongings to the bag counter. Bags and big folder are not allowed inside the library only pieces of papers and notebooks are allowed.
- Valuables should be secured by the owners. The CICT library will not be responsible for the lost of valuable items.
E. LIBRARY PROPERTY
- Theft, defacement, mutilation or destruction of library properties
are subject to disciplinary action.
- Library users caught bringing out library materials without
permission shall be dealt with appropriate action.
F. CONDUCT WITHIN THE LIBRARY
- Library patrons and users are requested to conduct themselves in a
manner that will not disturb the peace, quiet and order of the library.
- Smoking, eating, drinking, littering, loitering and loud
conversations are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Cellular phones must be turned off or in silent mode when library users are inside the premises.
- Seats are not to be reserved and disarranged. Anything left on the reading tables for this purpose shall be removed by the student assistant or the librarian.
