Welcome to Institute of Home Economics

The Bulacan State University is envisioned to provide relevant education programs responsive to the dynamically changing domestic and international environment. Its educational programs are organized in such a way that it will be in line with the national development efforts of the governments. The creation of the Institute of Home Economics (InsHE) responds to the central goal of the national development which is sustainable human development. Sustainable human development is the development of people, both as the ultimate end of development and as a means for attaining that goal.

The Institute of the Home Economics help realize the vision of the Bulacan State University to become the center of educational development in Bulacan and in the whole region. The institute now offer two full-term courses: Bachelor of science in Home Economics and Bachelor of science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Mission

The Institute of Home Economics shall provide training and instructions anchored to the different areas of home economics accentuating on the formation of wholesome values and attitudes, skills and knowledge that adequately adjust to the ever changing needs of the society.

Vision

The Institute of Home Economics of Bulacan State University is envisioned to become one of the centers for excellence in the different areas of Home Economics in the country in the new millenium using high technological approach in its courses. It shall become one of the centers for development of high moral value, highly dynamic, vibrant and service oriented individuals who can produce desirable changes for national development and become the forerunners in the field of research and extension services. Likewise, it shall produce highly competent individuals who are globally competitive.

Goals

The Institute of Home Economics (IHE), aims to;

1. produce competent teachers and leaders equipped with broad knowledge and skills in the different areas in home economics.
2. produce individuals who are imbued with moral and spiritual values in the preservation of the cultural heritage of the nation and;
3. contribute to the national development through research and extension program.

Specific Objectives

Specifically, the Institute of Home Economics aims to:

1. prepare competent and productive teachers and leaders in the different fields of home economics;
2. equip individuals with knowledge and skills necessary for successful entrepreneurial activities;
3. develop a new breed of home economists sensitive to the technological changes and effect global competitiveness;
4. contribute to the enhancement of the quality of life of Filipinos through community extension programs;
5. educate individuals for effective and satisfying personal and family life and responsible citizenship;
6. inculcate in the minds of the individuals the importance of family as the foundation of the nation and;
7. develop love and appreciation in the different areas of home economics.
