As the academic unit tasked with the facilitation of health and fitness component program in the various curricular offerings, The Institute of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports is also the lead agency in the training of the University athletes who represent the school in cross institutional, regional and national competitions. The sporting events range from the various ballgames to taekwondo and dance sport.

Mission

The primary thrust of Institute of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports is to be always firmly aligned with other are of learning contributing to the purpose of higher education thru the use of dance, sports and recreational activities.

Vision

The Institute of Physical Education, Recreations & Sports as a College offering programs which focus on proficiency in sports, dance, recreational activities and as a center for swimmers and dancers in Region III.

Goals

  1. Make fitness testing available to all freshmen and other interested students, faculty and personnels.
  2. Develop year-round sports activities for faculty, personnel, students inline with the thrust of the university to promote sports and athletics in the community.
  3. Select and train athletes as part of the year-round sports development program.
  4. Develop linkage with other institutions through participation in provincial, regional and SCUAA athletic meets and other higher levels of competitions.

Scholarship Grants

Institutional scholarship for varsity athletes, members of the dance troupes and members of the training pool.
