The BulSU-College of Nursing was organized and established in December 2003, by virtue of Resolution No. 65, s. 2003, in response to the growing demand for highly qualified and competitive nurses to meet the health necessities of the society, both local and international. Soon thereafter, the Nursing Program was formally offered during the 1st semester of SY 2004-2005, by virtue of Resolution No. 17, s. 2004, under the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), under the deanship of Dr. Norma C. Morala. Initial enrollees numbered to more or less 200 students, distributed to four (4) sections. On February 15, 2005 per Resolution No. 4, s. 2005, the College of Nursing was divided into three Institutes and one College, namely: Institute of Sciences (IS), Institute of Social Sciences and Philosophy (ISSP), Institute of Arts and Letters (IAL) and the College of Nursing (CoN). Thus, what was initially a part of the CAS is now a stand-alone College, offering the Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a four (4)-year program. Enrollees for the 1st sem 2005-2006 doubled, creating a total of eight (8) sections to accommodate first year students. The first and present Dean of the CoN is Ms. ADELAIDA G. BORBE, RN, MSN, per office order no. 11 s. 2005 dated May 2, 2005. She is supported by capable and experienced faculty/personnel as the College gears itself in meeting the challenges of health promotion, illness prevention and community rehabilitation and satisfies the current need towards being the center for academic excellence for nursing education and research in the country. Currently, the College occupies the 2 nd floor, left wing, of the Federizo Building.
