Mission

The Institute of Science will devote its human and material resources to improve knowledge, develop skills, cultivate values, conduct research studies, and facilitate extension promotive of the goals of nation – building and lofty human aspirations in the fields of biological and physical sciences, mathematics, and computer science.

Goals

To realize its missions, the Institute of Science will endeavor to:

1. Promote the holistic development of the students by providing them with opportunities to grow in wisdom and competence in their chosen vocation.

2. Equip the students with the capability to transform knowledge and acquired skills into marketable capabilities that would effectively facilitate their successful integration into the world of work and become productive, creative, and self-actualized individuals.

3. Effectively impart the requisites to the development of the proper perspectives, outlook, and dispositions that would contribute towards a meaningful and fulfilling existence as a member of the civilized human race.

Specific Objectives of BS Mathematics, major in Computer Science

The program aims to:

• Produce graduates with a strong background in mathematical modeling, scientific computing, and the various modern application of mathematics
• Provide the students with a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical aspects of computer sciences necessary for a successful career as system designer, programmer, and other related professions in information technology.
• Equip the students with necessary competencies which will enable them to find gainful employment in the high technological fields of mathematics and computer science.
• Train the students to become productive and nationalistic citizens who are aware of their responsibilities to home and country.

Specific Objective of BS Mathematics with Specialization in Business Applications

The program aims to:

• Produce graduates with a strong background in mathematical modeling, scientific computing, and the various modern application of mathematics
• Equip the students with necessary competencies which will enable them to find gainful employment in the high technological fields of mathematics and applied statistics.
• Train the students to become productive and nationalistic citizens who are aware of their responsibilities to home and country.

Specific Objective of BS Mathematics with Specialization in Applied Statistics

The program aims to:

• Produce graduates with a strong background in mathematical modeling, scientific computing, and the various modern application of mathematics
• Equip the students with necessary competencies which will enable them to find gainful employment in the high technological fields of mathematics and applied statistics.
• Train the students to become productive and nationalistic citizens who are aware of their responsibilities to home and country.

Specific Objectives of BS Biology

The program aims to:

• Train and produce graduates who have a firm foundation in biological sciences and are familiar with the methods of environmental monitoring and pollution control, biotechnology, and food microbiology.
• Equip the students with functional knowledge of the characteristics of animals, plants, and microorganisms and how they interact with one another.
• Expose the students to the various methods of biological research to find solutions to the environmental problems and contribute to technology development for biologically – based industries.
• Develop knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitude needed to attain personal development and fulfilling employment in the industrial, commercial, service, government, and educational sector.
