to the Institute of Social Sciences and Philosophy The ISSP envisions the formation of community of nationalist scholars in the field of Social Sciences and Philosophy. Though in its infancy, ISSP has embarked on conceptualizing a program that provides quality education in the Social Sciences and the conduct of focused research to advance the scientific study of human behavior, social processes and institutions. The ISSP pursues an academic program that advocates progressive study of Philippine society and culture in a global milieu. Corollarily, the ISSP formed last August 9, 2005, the Center for Social Research and the Center for Continuing Social Science Education. The two Centers are on their organizational stage and are expected to be on 11111 stream by the second semester. The Center for Social Research is the research arm of the ISSP. It is tasked to coordinate research activities of the faculty members including those research programs that will emanate from inquiry based instructions. The Center for Continuing Social Science Education is tasked to undertake training programs for various disciplines of Social Sciences and Philosophy. It aims to cater to the training needs of elementary, secondary and tertiary schools in Region III and later in the national level, private and public, for updates in the current trends or emerging trends in the various disciplines of Social Sciences and Philosophy in two areas, namely content and instructional approaches and strategies At present, the ISSP offers baccalaureate degree course in Legal Management. The Bachelor of Arts in Legal Management is already in its second year. The ISSP is composed of powerhouse of 39 faculty members. Recognized in their particular field of specialization in the various disciplines of Social Sciences, two of them possessed doctorate degree, six are Ph.D and or Ed. D doctorate degree candidates, nineteen faculty members have earned their master’s degree and the rest are enrolled in master’s degree programs. The information age in a globalize milieu has come to challenge Philippine society’s long standing life ways, traditional values and coherent web of social relationship. Great strides in technology and natural sciences bring new forms of social behavior that impact on people’s perception of themselves and on their views of their social and natural environment. Hence, the ISSP behooves itself to make the study of behavioral sciences educates the people of the social changes that are taking place and provides society of mass of knowledge in the Social Sciences that informs contemporary life ways. The Institute of Social Sciences and Philosophy envisions a community of nationalist scholars who are committed in the pursuit of excellent, significant, and emancipating Social Science education through inquiry based instruction and focused research to advance the scientific study of human behavior and social institutions that informs public policies towards national development and promotion of equity in society. The Institute foresights academic programs that advocate progressive study of Philippine culture and society in a global milieu. The Institute of Social Sciences and Philosophy shall provide nationalistic Social Science and Philosophy education anchored on universal pursuit of scientific study of the individual and collective human behavior through interdisciplinary and multifarious research, sustained publication, significant extension and interactive pedagogy, and relevant academic programs.
