LEARN CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE AT CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE IN BULACAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Mandarin, according to some definition, is a category of related Chinese dialects spoken across most of the northern and south-western China. As the language is most widely used, nowadays, it is considered as the most spoken language around the world, followed by Spanish and English. The ability to speak and understand Chinese words and characters gives a lot of benefits, such as an opportunity to work in an environment where in Chinese language is considered as the major means of communication. The need to study Mandarin continuously arises due to the rising tide of China’s growing economic strength.

The Confucius Institute at Bulacan State University offers course program for individuals or groups who want to study Mandarin as their second language.

The course program includes intensive course, introductory courses, full year courses and advanced courses.

Learning Chinese finds its way to the students of the College of Social Science and Philosophy and Industrial Engineering of the College of Engineering. The course has become a part of the curriculum of the degree.

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK)

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi also referred as HSK is the China’s only standardized test of Standard Mandarin Chinese Proficiency for non – native speakers, namely foreign students, overseas Chinese and members of ethnic minority groups in China. It is also known as the “Chinese Proficiency Test” and the “Chinese TOEFL”. Originally conceptualized in Beijing Language and Culture University in 1984 and made officially as the Chinese Standardized Test in 1992, there are over 120 countries who had participated in the said exam.
