The BULSU - Manesses Campus MilestoneThe Bulacan State University came into being as an intermediate school known as Bulacan Trade School, founded in 1904 by virtue of Legislative Act passed by the Philippine Commission in 1901. It initially offered specialization in woodworking furniture, and cabinet making. In 1953, through Republic Act 908, The Bulacan Trade School offered an additional shop course such as drafting, automotive, and radio mechanics. Four years later, another bill was enacted into law known as Republic Act 1800 authored by then Representative Florante Roque. The BTS was converted into Bulacan National School of Arts and Trade. By virtue of another legislation in 1960, the school was renamed as the Bulacan School of Arts and Trade (BSAT), with Mr. Santiago Roxas as its first superintendent. In 1965, Republic Act 4470, authored by the late Representative Teodulo Natividad, was signed into law converting BSAT into a state college, known as Bulacan College of Arts and Trades (BCAT) with Mr. Deogracias Flores as acting president. Under this law, the newly created BCAT was mandated by the government to provide higher professional instruction and training in the field of arts, sciences and technology. As a state college, BCAT introduced four presidents, they were Mr. Gavino M. Carpio (1967-1973), Dr. Antonio T. federizo (1974-1977), Mr. Ernesto C. Valencia (1978-1983), and dr. Rosario P. Pimentel (1983-present). Finally on December 30, 1993, the sate college was converted into a state university through Republic Act 7665. This law was made through House Bill No. 564 principally authored by late Representative Teodulo Natividad and co-authored by Rep. Pedro Pancho, Rep. Ricardo Silverio and Rep. Angelito Sarmiento with Dr. Rosario P. Pimentel as the first university president. In December 2000, an extension class of engineering under the flagship of CAS was approved in Bulakan, Bulacan through the efforts of Mayor Anacleto R. Meneses and President Rosario P. Pimentel. So at the beginning of the School Year 2001-2002, Bambang Campus began its operation with four sections of general engineering under the supervision of Executive Vice President Dr. Mariano C. de Jesus with Mrs. Lualhati Samonte as faculty head. The Local government officials of the Municipality of Bulakan, Bulacan made an arrangement for the temporary housing of the unit within the Campus of the Doña Candelaria Meneses Duque High School in Bambang, Bulakan, Bulacan. In April 2005, the unit transferred to its permanent site at the TJS, Matungao, Bulakan, Bulacan and became officially known as Meneses Campus with Ms. Rosario M.
