As part of the evaluation process for the reappointment of Dr. Gascon for her second term as the University President of BulSU, Supreme Student Council led the assembly to identify and determine the issues and concerns of the students during her first term.

Members of the Local Student Council together with some editorial staff from the different College Student Publications participated and adressed their questions to the University President. Issues ranging from the lack of classrooms and facilities brought by the growing population of the students, future plans for the university, concerns regarding the teaching performance of some of the faculty members, mental health of the students, and the alarming cases of suicide were among the topics discussed during the forum.

Dr. Gascon attended to their concerns. One of the major issues raised by the students regarding her future plans is solving the problem of inadequate classrooms for the growing number of BulSUan. Dr. Gascon recounted, “When I arrived here, I noticed that there is no room for students to have their activities, that is why now we have the audio visual rooms in almost all of the colleges. Also, we already developed modern classrooms for the students. We have the CBA building, but it is not exclusive only for CBA, which means, other colleges could also use the classrooms for their classes. But of course, once the Research Building is fully furnished, 1st and 2nd floors would be for laboratories and 4th and 5th are for the classrooms. These rooms can be used by the colleges who need spaces.”

The Student Regent thanked the University President for answering all the queries of the student leaders, and she hoped for the full support of the administration to the projects of the student leaders.

The assembly ended with a promise from the University President, “Una, ‘pag sinabi kong tutulungan ko kayo, tutulungan ko kayo. Ako yung taong ‘di natatakot na sundin ang mas magandang approach lalo at kung alam kong iyon ay makakabuti sa inyo, ginagawa ko ‘yon. Kung ako man ay magkamali ng desisyon, tinatanggap ko ‘yon at iniisip ko kung paano pa mas mapapabuti ang sitwasyon. Ang ipakikiusap ko sana sa mga estudyante ay maging katuwang kayo ng administrasyon para lalong mas mapaunlad ang Bulacan State University.
