The purpose of this project is to secure the continuity, sustainability, and propagation of these cultural practices and traditions. Bulacan, as we all know, is not only abundant in raw materials because of its diverse landscape, from the mountain range of the Sierra Madre—agricultural land—to the coastal area. The Bulakenyos’ rich culture and experience in how to develop communities based on cultural identity and existing resources also give us opportunities to extend and level up our craftsmanship and artistry in producing unique products. The program started with welcoming remarks from the University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon who discussed the importance of promoting and preserving the natural resources of Bulacan. She is hopeful that this project will help in protecting the natural resources of Bulacan. It was followed by a video presentation and a heartfelt speech from the CHED Chairman, Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera who expressed his appreciation for the collaboration of BulSU and SHINE Bulacan on the HASAAN Center. Dr. De Vera also shared some important notes on how and when this undertaking took off and stressed that BulSU is one of the first SUCs to take this kind of initiative.

The event continued with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at BulSU Hostel, where the HASAAN Center is situated. The Bulacan Cultural Material Laboratory was also inaugurated, and it was located on the 5th floor of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) Building. At the end of the program, Dr. Aimee Grace M. Madlangbayan, the Dean of the CHTM, delivered her closing remarks as she expressed her gratification that the HASAAN Center was finally launched and that it was strengthened by the support of the BulSU Executive Committee and CHED Chairman, Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera.
