IRCITE 2023 successfully concludes– BulSU CICT bagged numerous awards

The International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE 2023) was held successfully at Bataan's People Center in Balanga, Bataan, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on May 5, 2023. The event was attended by delegates from various universities and figures from the field of Information Technology, held in a face-to-face setting after being held online during the surge of the pandemic.

To officially start the program after the morning preparation, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Chorale sang a doxology and the National Anthem. It was followed by the Opening Salvo then a welcome remark from the President of PSITE-Central Luzon, Dr. Jonilo C. Mababa.

Afterwards, back-to-back messages to freshen up the beginning of the event were broadcasted by the Presidents of BPSU, SRC, and PSITE. The speakers and presidents who delivered their messages were consecutively Dr. Ruby S. Matibag, Dr. Bienvenida G. Alvaro, and Dr. Joey M. Suba.

The messages preceded an inspirational speech from Dr. Lora L. Yusi, OIC, Director Commission on Higher Education-R3 – keynote speech from the Governor of Bataan Province, Gov. Jose Enrique “Joet” S. Garcia III – and statement of purpose by Prof. Richmon L. Carabeo, the Treasurer of PSITE-Central Luzon. The event had four Plenary Speakers, each with varying topics.

The first was Mr. Brian N. Siegelwax -- a Quantum Talent Partner, Author, and Freelance Journalist. Mr. Siegelwax’s speech regarded “Quantum Computing”. The speaker who followed his discussion was the Director of BulSU - Big Data Laboratory, Dr. Jayson M. Victoriano, and presented about “A Big Thing: Data and Data Science”. As an intermission number ended, the Plenary Speeches continued with Dr. Amos Kibet’s presentation about “Blockchain Technology''.

Lastly, the topic "Innovative Breakthrough brought by AI-Language Modelers” was tackled by the CEO and Founder of Hurey Software Tech Inc. – Mr. Joy Cuison, MCSD, MBA. Around lunch time, the Quiz bee competition started as headed by Dr. Alma Theresa D. Manaloto, Area Coordinator of PSITE Central Luzon. Following that was a time allotted for the sponsors of the event.

After an intermission prepared by BPSU, the event continued in the consecutive competitions of Mr. and Ms. Ambassador of GoodWill 2023; and Modern Dance contest. Afterwards the program transitioned to its awarding ceremony. Overall, Bulacan State University CICT brought home seven awards and recognition.

The award that CICT gathered are the following: For the Paper Presentation in Information System, Session Overteam got the best paper with their Web-based Membership and Election System in BCCI. In the same category, Nicole Andrei Reyes hailed as the Best Presenter.

In the dancing arena, Team CICT Peepz placed as the 1st Runner up while Team UpriseSquadron won as the 2nd-Runner up, and Team Uprise Visionaries the 3rd Runners-up for the IT Marketing Challenge. As of the Mr. And Ms. Ambassador competition, CICT delegates bagged awards too; Jeane Paula Macalino got the 2nd Runner-up in Ms. Ambassadress of Goodwill, and Joshua Kenneth Dela Torre was awarded the Best in Corporate Attire.

For the last award, CICT dominated the programming category, as Zyrill Marceline won as the champion for the said competition. After the awarding ceremony, the event concluded with a raffle and photo opportunities that followed Prof. Fernand T. Layug's closing remarks.
