University Research Office


The Bulacan State University Research Office endeavors to conduct researches for knowledge generation that are focused in responding to the immediate needs of the community. These studies are envisioned for use in academic instruction, extension projects, and bases for policymaking and blueprints for production. Researches are conducted in the interest of social justice and sustainable development to attain equity among a diverse population.

The university in its aim to conduct research studies for the creation of new knowledge that leads to development of human capital and social transformation will uphold the core values of honesty, integrity and service. As such, its researchers will be guided to pursue scholarly endeavors with the following principles in mind.

The researches in this cluster qualify under any of the following; (1) classification of architecture based on significant periods in history; (2) the socio-economic, political and cultural issues concerning our development; (3) the origins and products of the human capacity for creativity and communication.

The researches in this cluster qualify under any of the following; (1) human resource problems and career trends; (2) business history, start-ups and challenges; (3) corporate social responsibility; (4) entrepreneurship, franchising and challenges; (5) business statistics; (6) economic indicators; (7) financial markets and ratios; (8) global business trends; (9) industry trends and challenges and (10) consumer and marketing research.

Pure and Applied Sciences

This cluster focuses on researches that provide baseline data that eventually lead to researches that determine the viability of certain projects or studies. Some of these are utilized as follows; (1) use of new materials for development or fabrication equipment, machinery, vehicles; (2) use of mathematics to create computer programs; (3) use of data on chemical, biological, physical and environment monitoring in health research, energy research, environmental management research; (4) use of data on food analyses in health and nutrition research; (5) use of data on chemical, biological, physical and environment monitoring to create green energy, invent transportation that runs on green energy and build homes and buildings that rely on renewable resources.

Engineering and Technology Innovation

The researches in this cluster focus on the following; (1) development of new devices and new processes in construction, food manufacturing, information, communication, energy and transportation; (2) testing of new and existing devices and processes based on industrial quality and standard; (3) development of new and more appropriate industrial standards of quality; (4) proper utilization of environmental resources; (5) proper management of water resources through engineering.

The researches in this cluster focus on the following; (1) antimicrobial, pharmacological and toxicological properties of newly discovered plant extracts; (2) effects of environmental conditions to health; (3) effects of individual lifestyle to health; (4) trends in the incidence and epidemiology of disease; (5) effects of food and drink to health especially in addressing diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight and eating disorders, allergies, malnutrition and neoplastic diseases; (6) trends in fitness and athletic training to promote good health.
